Meet Our Pastor

Fr. Richard (Rick) Stoffel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received his early childhood formation at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish School. He began priestly training at De Sales Preparatory Seminary High School, received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology at St. Francis Seminary College, completed his Masters of DIV at St. Francis Seminary and was ordained in 1979.

He served as associate pastor at St. Matthew Parish, Oak Creek, WI, St. Mary Parish, Kenosha, WI, and then as pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Racine, WI before coming to St. Peter, Slinger, WI in 2002. He also serves Resurrection Parish in Allenton, WI. He has served several terms of office on the Archdiocesan Council of Priests and the Archdiocesan Priest Placement Board. He has also served on the Board of Directors for St. Catherine High School, Racine, WI, and now serves as Dean of Priests in District 6 as well as Chaplain to the Knights of Columbus Council 12588. Father Rick has enjoyed and enthusiastically served God’s people for over 30 years and looks forward to many more years as an active priest.

A product of a parish-based Catholic elementary school education, he has been especially pleased to help Catholic school students and families in every parish/community that he has served. He enjoys teaching the children and celebrating the sacraments with them, knowing that priests who did the same for him had a significant impact on his life of faith when he was young and he hopes to help plant the seeds of faith in generations to come.

He strongly supports St. Peter Catholic School and invites all Catholic families, especially in the Tri-Parish cluster of Resurrection in Allenton, St. Peter in Slinger, and St. Lawrence in the Town of Hartford, to give high consideration to helping children grow in knowledge, faith, hope and love at St. Peter Catholic School.
